eCampus Service Interruption on Monday, 10/14, 9:30 PM - 12:30 AM

On Monday, 10/14, eCampus experienced a service interruption from about 9:30 PM - 12:30 AM (10/15) Central Time. Users who attempted to log in during this time received the message "Scheduled Maintenance in Progress".

Blackboard, the vendor for eCampus, erroneously started an upgrade on our production system that was scheduled to occur on our staging system. We alerted the vendor and they rolled back what they had already completed, the OS portion of the upgrade process. This took about two hours after Managed Hosting Engineers were able to reach a safe point to stop the upgrade process.

We understand that this occurred while students and faculty expected the system to be available and disrupted work that was being done. We are working with the vendor to ensure that this does not happen again. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused and thank you for your patience.
